Dish towels or dish cloths are an important element of any well-rounded kitchen. Dish towels and kitchen towels are essential items for drying dishes and hands. However, there are a few occasions when you should use a paper towel instead. A dish cloth is not ideal for cleaning counters or sinks, especially if you’ve been preparing meat, poultry or fish. If you do use a dish cloth for this purpose, always launder it before reusing. Most kitchen towels are designed for drying hands and dishes, and aren’t intended to be used with a cleaning or disinfecting agent, such as bleach or kitchen cleaner. Be sure to wash your dish towels frequently, and it’s also a good idea to use a separate dish cloth for drying hands and drying dishes.
