I ordered this leash because I've used a similar style of leash made from leather and it's very handy, but I prefer not to buy leather if possible, and this was an excellent price on sale at STP. Instead of a handle on one end and a snap on the other, the leash has snaps on both ends and a couple choices of rings to attach them to, so you can use it as a long leash, double it over as a shorter leash, clip it to itself and carry it around your waist or diagonally across your body when your dog is off-leash, or hook it around a post or a tree to "tie" your dog up temporarily while you stop in a store or do something that you need both hands for. That convertibility is why I got it, but it also supposedly repels dirt and water (haven't really used it enough yet to report on that). It's comfortable to hold, has a sueded feel to the fabric and the neoprene core gives it slightly more body, though if your dog is a strong puller you'd probably do better with a wider handle than you get with this leash or it will hurt your hand. Seems very strong and the hardware is heavy/quality. Looks a lot nicer/higher end than a typical nylon leash, especially in the color I got (brown and tan); the navy and tan would probably also look really sharp.
