Donna Ricco New York Bubble Dress - Silk Taffeta, Sleeveless (For Women)

I am in love with this dress and wish I could wear it every day! The fabric is beautiful and the fit is very flattering. With a style like this (snug up top and loose on the bottom), I'd usually order a size 6. I followed STP's suggestion to order up and the size 8 is great. It is at the tailor's right now, though, to have the straps shortened a little. I'm petite (5'1") and the top fell a bit too low to cover all of my bra without pinning them together. I get it back on Saturday and am looking forward to wearing it out next week. I'm 5'1", 36B, slightly pear-shaped, ~127 pounds. The fit and style of this dress definitely flatter my body and make me feel beautiful (which is saying a lot given that I usually feel average to pretty good!).

Dress was cute, but too big. A bubble dress needs to be shorter in order to be flattering. I bought this dress for my high school daughter. She liked the style, but it was too long. She wears a size 10 and is 5'8". the dress was too long and a little big all over. It is tough to alter because of the style. We returned it.

Can't wait to wear it to my next party!

The dress is beautiful and just perfect for a wedding or other special occasion. The dress does run small, so order one size up. I don't usually buy without trying something on first and was hesitant about ordering one size up, but it worked out wonderfully. The dress has real buttons in the back, no fake row of buttons with a hidden zipper here! The straps have little built in loop things on the inside that you can slide the straps of your bra through so you don't have to worry about straps hanging off the shoulder or peeking out from under the dress. In addition to being beautiful/stylish, the craftsmanship (how it was sewn) is good too, just be careful not to snag the fabric b/c it is silk and if snagged the fabric will be ruined. All in all, a great buy!

I couldn't believe the way this dress flattened the bust. And the way the skirt gathers (stiffly) it makes your hips and stomach look huge. Very disappointing.

I love this dress!! I cannot believe I alsmost did not order it!! I was nervous too try it on because i was not sure how it would fit. It is very flattering and it is so cute on. I ordered the 8 and overall it fit well. I have small shoulders but a large chest (34D) so i was worried the top would be small and not cover enough. The cut is actually very woman shape friendly. This is the 2nd Donna Ricco dress i have purchased and i am very pleased and hope STP keeps her dresses in stock!! P.S I also bought a silk pashmina from STP to go with and it is perfect.

Bought this dress to wear to a wedding. It was perfect for the occasion-- dressy enough but the shorter length made it not too formal for afternoon. Recommendation to order 1 size up was correct (which is why I checked "too small" above). Lovely color and flattering cut. Skirt was not too "bubbly"-- more like a normal line but gathered under at the hem. Much more flattering than the "bubble" silhouette, I think, but if you want a true "bubble" this may not do it.
