Ive always used an old, short reach pair of hemostats to debarb my hooks; they do work & fit nicely in tight spaces but do lack a little oomph because of the slender nature of the arms. For saltwater or large hooks sometimes I'll try needle nose pliers but they seem over large on all but the biggest hooks. These pliers seem to strike a nice balance, fairly small and precise but with nice stought arms and jaws. They are sprung also which is handy.
