Dr. Slick Co. Mitten Clamp

I'm used to using standard Kelly clamps which require that you use your right hand and pressure the device sideways to ensure it opens. This has a very clever mechanism that makes opening easier and foolproof. Am very happy with this clamp and strongly recommend it.

Very easy to open and close with one hand. Works well in all seasons. Indispensable tool on the river. Never seen these at this low price. Go with the larger size if you will be using with gloves on.

Really great product. Only been out on the river with them a couple times so I can't comment yet on the durability, but so far these are great. I'm a big guy with big hands and these are a godsend - just grab and 'em and remove a hook, crimp a split shot or pinch down barbs. No more fumbling around with traditional hemostats. The catch mechanism is strong enough to grab a very secure hold on your vest/pack, but its super easy to release and use the tool for what it's indended for. Really nice.

I've seen two comments about these being difficult to open. If you try to open them like traditional clamps, it is nearly impossible to do with one hand. But if you simply squeeze the grips they will click past the final catch and spring open. Super easy when wearing gloves. I used these during most of my winter fishing and I thought they were excellent. I plan on using these full time from now on.

Good overall quality. Difficult to open with one hand.
