Reviewed by D2Dogs from Dallas, TX on Tuesday, May 14, 2013These things are great quality. And, at STP price, wonderful purchase. I wish they made a little longer nose plier, but these work great. I used them for bass fishing, which is probably not their intended use and why I want a longer nose.

Reviewed by rewader from ca on Tuesday, March 05, 2013Haven't used it yet. Should be good for clipping leaders, etc. Not yet sure how close to the fly it will nip the leader though. Easier to use than the nail-clipper style, but also more to carry. So this rating is provisional.

Question “Are the pliers always open as shown when not being used? Basically, I would like to know if they are easy to use for one-hand operation.”

Answer Yes the pliers are left open when not in used. The handles have a nice rubberized grip which make them easy to use with one hand.
