    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    Nothing special about these that would lead to preferring over standard scissors. A bit flimsy feeling. If the blades were more narrow, could have made a case for tying midges. No sharper than my other scissors, including the bent shaft reviewed elsewhere.

    Absolute essential scissors for tying small trout flies especially midges and micro patterns. Clean as close as possible cuts. Cuts very light and thin threads etc. A must for the tying bench. Perfect for modifying a fly or cliping tippets onstream. Light and small to fit in your vest or on a zinger. If you don't have one , get it now . You need it .

    I carry a pair in my flytying bag for clipping fine materials up close. I also find they work extremely well for rodbuilding. I use them to snip the holding bands on the guides as I wrap the thread up the guide foot. Works like a charm!
