combination of spring loading (springs open) and fine points is very handy. the fine-ness of the tips is not especially remarkable, nor is the quality of their cut, compared to other good scissors, but it is not inferior either. the main value of this configuration is that, i think, you probably get better control, while also having good precision, than with either loop-handle scissors or the fiskars tweezer-style though i have not used that (fiskars) type very much. james h waters phd

Like these so much I bought a second pair, very nice scissors.

I bought these because I wasn't happy with the sewing snips available in fabric shops. I also make jewelry and these snips have the most comfortable action and sharpest blades that I have come across and I have tried a lot. These are my top favorites for both fine sewing and jewelry making.

I use this for fine trimming while tying flies. The narrow and very sharp tips allow for getting very close to the fly to trim threads, hair, or hackles. Also quite ergonomically effective - light pressure for cutting and comfortable in the hand.

As an "aging" fly-tier I apprecaite the delicate touch these scissors allow me to have. The extra sensitivity helps me cut only the material I intend to cut....I help lead a fly-tying class and I've already recommended these to the participants.

I have used many spring iris scissors over the years, so when I saw this price, I jumped at it. I am dissapointed in the build quality. They are fairly rough, and do not cut smoothy, but they do cut. Not a bad value, but not high quality.

Small scissor tips that are well matched and machined. Good for doing small detailing work and small flies.

You can't beat the price for delicate detail these scissors offer. It's concave shape makes for an incredibly flush cut.

These are perfect for fine, delicate trimming on hair body flies -- one hair at a time. Great for cleanup work to make that fly look perfect. (Don't tell anyone, but they are perfect for facial hair too.)
