I didn't expect a lot of these shorts at such a low price, so I wasn't disappointed. However, prospective purchasers should know that neither the fabric nor the design and construction are impressive; for example, they're shorter than most cargoes I've owned, and not only the cargo pockets but even the side slash pockets are oddly shallow (also, the web belt that comes with the shorts is a throwaway since the buckle doesn't hold). I've been using them as warm-weather shorts around the house, fine when gardening or mowing the lawn, and I'll also use them for hiking on hot days when my longer, somewhat heavier-weight shorts could be a little more than I want. -- They'd be okay at the beach, too, if you don't care about looking especially stylish.

sized as 40 waist seemed like 36

These shorts were very small....not true to size at all.

I had to send these back: marked as a 34" waist, but measured out at less than 32". I cannot comment on wear since they were never worn!

Sizing is off, too small.

I will not keep these, the sizing is unpredictable. I bought 2 shorts size 34 and they were both too small and both different sizes.

I cannot even rate on this product due to the huge discrepancy in sizing. Ordered what should have a loose size larger and they are at least a size too small and unwearable without a diet. The belt that comes with them is so cheap it would be worthless if the actually did fit. Huge disappointment all the way around.

Fit was way too small. Might be a good fit if you are light in the rear.
