I use this for weekly business trips. It is light and stores easy in the overhead compartment. Some issues closing the handle but does not dampen my enthusiasm for the bag. It has nice features - like a board & bag for keeping business shirts folded nicely and velcro bags in the corners for toiletries etc.

I own several EC bags and am always in search of the "perfect" travel bag for business. The HC2 garment bag looked very promising, but after my first trip, I am thinking it will miss the mark. The outside material is very high quality, and looks like it will take a beating, the inside however looks more delicate, and I doubt it will hold up to many journeys before the internal zippers give out. The combination of a relatively short handle, and the broad rolling footprint of the bag had me continuously kicking it as I was walking.
Best Uses: Business Travel
Cons: Questionable durability, Small Capacity, Thin Material

Answer
No, it doesn't have a *specifically designed*padded laptop pocket BUT the large outer pocket (on side opposite rolling handle)is 18x13" and so quite easily held my laptop, cord and my ebook reader. The pocket's exterior is lightly padded and the interior presses against you're clothes, etc. I wouldn't trust it for check-in laptop (heck, I'd never check my laptop!), but it works well for carry-on laptop storage. Add a sleeve if you like more cushioning.
