Overall, this makes for a nice travel backpack, especially for the price. Things I wish were different about it - I wish it had a zipper up cover for the straps to make checking it on a plane easier, I also wish that the convertible fanny pack top converted into a backpack rather than a fanny pack. I also wish that it had more "clippy" areas on the outside like hiking backpacks. Otherwise, it does what it's meant to do well! Using the main compartment "duffle style" is really handy, and the rain cover is very practical. Final warning - 65 L is a lot for a travel backpack. If that's what you're going to use it for, DO NOT fill it up. That'll be more than you want to carry.

Many zippers -- all lead to the same internal compartment. I only used is a couple of times to date, but I was disappointed that it was not better divided.

Finally! This pack is fantastic for my weekend camping excursions in scouts. It is so versatile and practical, yet comfortable and just the right size for a weekend. I used it two weekends in a row, the first within 24 hours of getting it. It was all I wanted and more. The bottom compartment is perfect for a stuffable sleeping bag & liner. The middle section opens from the front and the top making it super easy to get to your stuff. I didn't have to dig! The top has a cowl so I was able to stuff in a full size down pillow as a luxury item and nothing was sticking out. The top is a small removable backpack which was perfect for all the various toiletries. It has a huge number of adjustments and straps to mould to your body and clip stuff to. Also has a rain hood in the bottom compartment. This pack was great deal and I couldn't be happier. True Eagle Creek quality.

This replaced an older internal frame backpack that was purchased about 12 years ago from a famous outdoor outfitter, at about twice the cost. It is astonishing how many improvements have been made to this class of backpacks since then. The roominess was impressive, as were the detachable elements that can be taken off the pack and carried separately. The hydration capability was wonderful, as was the attached rain protection flap. We loved all the pockets! It was an EXCELLENT buy at an unbelievable price.

We ordered this for my daughter's trip to England with the Girl Scouts. Exactly what we were looking for. She can fit 2 weeks worth of clothes/gear easily. Price was much less than at other sites. [...]

Have not use this backpack yet, but am excited to. This was a super value from a trusted company. I am a loyal Eagle Creek customer and have not been let down yet. This bag also comes with a rain fly hidden in the bottom, a loop to lock it, and it top loading and front loading, perfect for travel.
