Versatile because it functions as a pack or wheeled-luggage. Smart design. A little too large to be considered as carry-on, but great piece of gear...

I've had a similar sized Eagle Creek rolling bag for 15-16 years, finally starting to show some wear. This bag is a great replacement with lots of improvements.

I am not an avid long range backpacker, however, I do plan to do more extended hikes (including el camino de santiago) where I would need this type of backpack The biggest selling point for me was the wheels and handle so it converts to a rolling bag or backpack. The wheels are large and well made, the handle is more sturdy then my Samsonite!, very well made. It converts easily to a backpack, all zipped up if you just want to pull the bag in the airport or when you just don't want to carry it anymore. It is roomy enough, lots of great pockets, the straps are nice and secure, even the sternal strap is adjustable. I took it for some test hikes in our woods, I am 5-2, 123 and it fits me well. Not too heavy and sits perfectly on my hips when the straps are adjusted for my size. The straps give you enough leeway to make it smaller or quite a bit bigger. The only thing I found to be an issue is the zipper on the bottom compartment, it is very difficult to open around the corners. That being said, the rest is great. Again, I am not a career backpacker, but I know quality and this is quality made. In fact, the day I got it, I was on Skype with my friend from England that is going on the el camino de santiago with me and she liked it so much she had me buy one for her. I am binging it when I head to England/Ireland in two weeks. Can't wait to use it.
