The shoes look and feel great, but beware the negative heel -- the shoes feel a bit like there's a wadded up sock under your foot because the rise from the heel to the arch is so great. They definitely are a work-out to walk in generally in a good way, but on a longish walk you will feel like you are exercising, not strolling. extra stretch for your achille's tendon, too.

I have lived my life via mail-order for over 20 years and have always been true to sizing recommendations. I ordered these Earth shoes in my traditional size, 11.5 and was extremely disappointed that they were easily a whole size too big! I could put three fingers in behind my heel and not push my toes into the front of the shoes. Saying that, I chose to reorder the same shoe in a smaller size with no comfort nor confidence in what might show up. Earth has always been a premium brand but this sizing dilemma has me doubting the whole brand. Quality seemed fine and comfort seemed good enough to try again. I hope they do work out fine.
