I normally wear my usual size, 8 1/2. With the Setina, I needed to size up 1/2 in order for these to feel stable. Ordinarily the leather would stretch enough for my foot to move forward and rest correctly. However, on this sandal the upper is rigid and thick (nice quality, like good belt leather). I feel sure it will hold my foot in place as I walk, but only by going up in size. If you're usually an 8-8 1/2, I think the 8 1/2 will work. If you're 8 1/2-9, the 9 is probably a better bet. I hope this helps. This sandal is worth the effort!

I highly recommend them. Sometimes the edges of the cut leather rub against my toes but that is a small price to pay for the comfort. This may disappear as the shoes break in. I ordered 9 1/2 and returned to get size 10. Earthies usually run very true to size, this particular pair may be running just tiny bit small.

The shoe is not snug on me at all, perhaps somewhat loose. This could be because I have no instep to speak of due to my flat feet. I'm going to walk around in them and hope very much to keep them, as long as they stay on my feet! Very happy so far!

They are very supportive for a high arch, but these were tighter than other ones I have purchased. I ordered the next size, but they were a little long, and still snug. I'm going to wear them around the house in hopes they will work, but the leather is quite stiff. I love the looks of the shoe.
