    This stem DOES come with a shim, so it WILL fit on the 1" quill, contrary to the review and the answer from the guy on this website. So, for the price, I was very pleased with this product. I am using a Deda quill adaptor for my threadless setup. With this Easton with shim, it will work on the black Deda adaptor. perfect!

    The stem was purchased to build up a training bike using some older parts (e.g. 26mm bar vs more common 31.8mm) and it fits the bill perfectly. The 2 face plate bolts attach via novel shaped nuts, which wasn't obvious how to assemble at first, but it works. STP and Easton delivered a high quality product with this road stem. The construction is great for the low price.
