Right out of the box and wore them for two long back to back shifts they were very comfortable. Plus they look great, have a non slip sole, and are waterproof. A couple of things to keep in mind however. The shoes run very large. I normally wear a size 10 (44 euro). Based on other reviews I'd read, I bought one full size smaller (43 Euro) and it fit nicely with plenty of extra room on the toe bed.
Also, this shoe doesn't have much arch support. So if you are someone like myself with high arches, you will probably need an orthotic insert. I installed a Dr. Scholl's over the counter insert, and I was off to the races. I can't comment on the durability of the show, but it looks very well made and sturdy, and so far I am very happy with my purchase. -

They are comfortable and sized about right. I'm happy with the quality and appearance though they are not especially stylish looking. No real break-in required. Good traction.

Most comfortable shoes I can remember putting on. I live in NYC so walk a lot. They've stayed comfortable thru many long walks. I gave them 5 stars and think they deserve every one.
A note on sizing. I wear a 10.5 M shoe. These are wide enuf for comfort - for me. But if your foot tends to the narrow side at all you won't want the Medium width. They will be too loose on your foot. But 10.5 was the perfect fit.

It fit well and was my primary shoe on a 6-day trip via airplane. It kept my feet dry walking through snow and was comfortabel throughout my trip which involved being on my feet a good bit of the time. I always have a good experience with Ecco and usually, but not always, pleased with their products.
