    At first I thought the silver or pewter wrap would be too much, but the shoe is great and looks wonderful on my foot, which is narrow. Also comfortable out of the box, especially on my left foot which has pain under the 3rd and 4th toes.

    These are truly elegant shoes. Wear them for formal occasions when you want to look your best. When you want to be a 1940s movie goddess, these are the shoes to wear. Their understated simplicity only enhances their effect. And are they comfortable! The leather is soft and malleable and they slip on like a glove. Total winners!

    I bought a pair of these, tried them on briefly and thought, "Great". After I'd worn them a time or two I realized that there was no way I could get them to stay on my feet. I finally gave up and reordered a pair in a size smaller. These are beautiful shoes (worth paying for twice!), but before you toss the packing slip, make sure they really fit, even if it's "the size I always wear"!

    the rounded toe did indeed look grandmotherly/retro. the silver is kind of a pewter color, a darker silver. they were comfortable when I tried them on for such high heels. If they had fit me I might have kept them.
