I tend to use this as a beater rope at the Gym and outdoors. So far it has held up great and at 60m if you get it with a 20% off coupon It's impossible to do better. Out of the box it flaked well and my only gripe would be that it's a 10.3 and weighs accordingly, but you know that going in.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by avid climber from Boulder Co on Friday, August 31, 2012Nice rope, great value. Perfect for dry day outings.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by ODB from Providence, Rhode Island on Tuesday, August 28, 2012I bought this rope and cut it in half. A friend bought the other half.
At 30 meters it will work just fine for doing gym sport lead climbing.
Becaus it is not a dry coated sheath or core I will not use it outside.
STP price delivere was $92 great price for a gym rope!
I have been technical rock and ice climbing over 10 years. I have previously bought a rope from STP. It lasted a long time and I used it quite a lot. Rope quality and durability vary by manufacturer. Some last and some do not. I am not sure why and price is not necessarily a good indicator.
I will wait and see how long this will last I do about 8 hours of gym climbing/training a week for outdoor.
This is the first Eldrid rope I have bought so I can not say anything about them as a manufacturer however based on several others I have used the constructon, specifications, and hand seem good.
I have bought thousands of dollars of gear from STP over the last 10 years and I have the highest regard for them as a retailer so I always check them first. They stand behind everything they sell and have a solid no BS return policy.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by OldClimber from Bellingham WA on Thursday, August 23, 2012Have not used the rope yet. It is waiting for a weekend trip to Skaha Bluffs. Everything was just as expected and the rope looks great.
The only possible drawback is the center marking is some kind of black dye and not a change in the pattern. I hope that it does not wear off.
- Pros: price
