Not only is it pretty to look at, but it is (most importantly) a quality rope. I took it out for it's first spin on trad climbing and maintained its excellence. This 70m of awesome is the perfect first rope.

I've been climbing for 3-4 years and have had experience with ropes on outdoor trips and indoor gyms. I gotta say, this edelrid rope is awesome. No break in necessary. Handling was super smooth in a petzl grigri2, similar to the sterling velocity. The weight is a bit heavy but that's probably because it's 70m vs the 40m I'm use to. If you want a workhorse rope for lead climbing, I highly recommend this rope. Solid buy.
