It's great for festival camping or campground use but not practical for overnight through hikes.

nice light from such a small lamp,also is very light in weight.

easy to pack and lightweight so great for air travel; using where electricity is solar powered and not dependable

Used one trip, good light, need to take out batteries during transit, may be turned on easily.

gear style actually falls somewhere in middle of choices. This light lights a small area rather well, could read by it if needed and light up a medium size tent fairly well. Extremely lightweight. Made of plastic and appears medium durable.

Bought this for use in tent, no hot flaming lanterns around the kids even tho tent is large.

These are great little lanterns. They put out a good deal of light. They run for a super long time on 4 AA batteries. They are lightweight and smaller in size. They are perfect for the kids or minimalist campers. The rings on top make them great for hanging. They tap on and there is no light adjustment possible. Not a problem for us. I bought two. If they are still around next time I place an order I will likely get another. Couldn't be happier!!!

First use was during a power outage at home. It provides bright lighting for a compact LED lantern. Haven't had it long enough to test run time. I added a caribiner clip to the handle so it's easier to hold and hang inside a tent. Design could be improved to make the lantern more compact, like the collapsible Black Diamond lanterns. Also has only one brightness setting and no battery indicator. But this item is great for the price.

Used it car camping for the kids...works fine.
