Concerning recharging, the connection to the 12 volt automobile receptical is loose. i.e. the light is slightly undersized for the recepticals in my dodge caravan. You have to place the light in the recepical carefully to get the red charge light to come on. As you travel I loose the connection and have to readjust the light to get positive contact. This is less of an issue with the model that has the double charger converter and you use the converter. The product is defective by design, but I got 4 and will keep them all. Good Luck shopper.
