“The Sumi-E line is supposedly inspired by Manga/ Anime styles, but to me these shoes are way more evocative of Irish dancing or medieval wear. I happen to hang out with a lot of tech-savvy medievalists, so to me they're a perfect cosmopolitan blend of old and new. The only con: the laces are sisal or hemp or something. Too casual. I'm going to replace them ASAP.”
