El Naturalista N045 Sumi-E Shoes (For Women)

I have 2 pairs--red and brown. Not good for wet weather as soles are 3-part. Really comfortable and I like the look.

Cushiony comfort in a youthful trend-conscious style. Unlike other reviewers, I like the rustic laces. Haven't worn the shoes enough to comment on durability, but I've had other shoes with rubber pads for soles (rather than the usual full sole) and there was no problem. Would not advise wearing these in heavy rain, however. I love El Naturalista craftsmanship. Their shoes are not only designed but also made in Spain, with several "green" features.

The Sumi-E line is supposedly inspired by Manga/ Anime styles, but to me these shoes are way more evocative of Irish dancing or medieval wear. I happen to hang out with a lot of tech-savvy medievalists, so to me they're a perfect cosmopolitan blend of old and new. The only con: the laces are sisal or hemp or something. Too casual. I'm going to replace them ASAP.

I was looking for a cute shoe to wear on weekends. These looked like they fit the bill. With the open area on top, they were different than what you see everyone else wearing. Great potential, but they were way too large, and back they went.

Love the shoe, it is very compfy and looks great! It's still summer, so no socks so far, but am looking forward to fall and all sock experiments. Shoes are often too wide for me, but with the strings on these, a lot can be adjusted.

Cute, comfortable, and wish they would come in other colors.

I am pleased with this well made shoe. It feels good on my feet. I have no problem with the high back of the shoe, no rubbing; I was concerned. And as I said in my heading, I think they make me look cool.

This shoe definitely feels a bit short. The size I chose was a 37. The box says it is equivalent to a U.S. 7.5. It feels like a 6.5. The inside did measure at 9.5, the same as my other size 37 shoes. My toes do go all the way to the end of the shoe and I prefer to have at least a half inch of extra to space. I don't think it will be a problem unless my foot were to slide in the shoe. It does not feel that way but it usually takes an hour of wearing to find out. The inner sole is removable which is nice. The shoe strings are very stiff so I might change them out like another reviewer did. Never would I pay $160 for the shoes but [$] is just fine.

I wear my shoes from "El Naturalista" during my relaxing days. I don't like to wear tennis shoes, so I find these shoes perfect for my casual outfits.
