Since we live in the midwest and it's December he hasn't gotten a chance to use them yet but I suspect they will work great. The only con is they are a hair too short for his taste. He is 6'1 and they come a bit above the knee. I would imagine if you are much taller you wouldn't like them either.. probably perfect for the 6' and under guy...
