Fewer compartments in this model

I have the purple colored bag and it is gorgeous! The color is unique and just lovely especially in bright light. However, this latest incarnation of the Ellington cross-body bag has fewer compartments than its predecessor. It seems roomier (resulting from fewer nooks and crannies taking up space) and a tad taller, but since I'm one who lugs everything but the kitchen sink in her bag, then I do miss having all those pockets. The one upside is that I am forced to stuff fewer items in the bag (for which my shoulder is thankful). I had to replace the older bag because the straps frayed at the end where it attaches to the body of the bag. I certainly hope this one will be more durable. (But keep in mind that this bag carried a ton of stuff and I didn't baby it.) In addition to not having enough interior and exterior compartments, I also miss the magnetic tab in the one outside pocket. So beware that if left standing, the bag gapes so don't put anything valuable in that outside pocket. Still, I am happy with this bag and perhaps I can just attach a velcro strip in the outside compartment to seal in the contents.
