    After having a card "slip out" of a billfold, found this to be a much safer alternative with the zip. Much more secure than most billfolds -- I like the blue/gray so much, I'll probably by the remaining color, olive green. It's not the most beaufiul leather, but very functional.

    The purse is darker than appeared in the picture. The stripe doesn't contrast as much as I expected. I got this a gift for my wife and it's a perfect checkbook/wallet combination. She already has the Ellington purse and she loves it. I expect she'll feel the same about the wallet.

    I didn't send this wallet back, but I should have -- I am very disappointed in its quality. It contains obvious cardboard stiffeners, which always seemed to me to be a hallmark of cheaply made leather goods.

    OK, maybe it's just me, but this wallet features one of my pet peeves -- cardboard stiffening that adds body to the thin (non-structural) leather at the cost of bulk and heft. I always considered cardboard one of the telltale hallmarks of a cheap wallet, and am very surprised to find it in something that is supposedly of this high quality. Not sure yet if I'm sending it back (I do need a new wallet), but I'm very disappointed.
