Most towels seem soft in the store, but when you want to towel off after a shower, all they do is smear around the water, leaving you quite damp. So I've taken to buying coarser towels, trying to find ones that absorb moisture. This towel is soft AND absorbent. It doesn't get any better.

These towels are thinner than the ones I have had for 12 years. I thought Egyptian cotton was suppose to be thick and luxurious. I am very disappointed. Additionally after one washing, there were numerous thread pulls. I will be returning them.

Purchase these to replace the towels in our family's main bath. The kids have commented on how soft they are, I guess that's the Egyptian cotton? The linen color is a little darker than in the picture but a pleasing light brown color which is what I wanted. They are definitely not as thick as some other high end towels, but those are sometimes those are almost too thick. These are perfect. I wish they were about 2" wider. Very pleased, and glad I bought a bunch.
