Eureka

This tent is an excellent car camping tent FOR 2 ADULTS ONLY. Three children would be fine, or 2 adults and a dog. The design is great - 2 doors, 2 vestibules, very airy. My wife and I endured 2 straight rainy days with no leakage or condensation. Also, the included footprint is a huge bonus and very helpful.

I bought this for my family of five and am pleased with its size which can easily accomodate all of us. However we took it out to a state park where the tent collapsed in wind, not even during a storm in fact just some heavy morning wind off of the lake, and one of the pole sections split. This is the third time we have used it. Upon contacting Eureka, or Johnson Outdoors, I was disappointed to learn that it'll take 4 to 6 weeks if we send it to them for warranty service. Furthermore the representative I spoke to said that they don't even stock the poles for this tent so they aren't even sure what they'll do though fixing the broken section seems the most obvious.

Tent is well made but a little small for a true 3 person tent. Length of folded poles make the packed stuff sack a little long for tight packing. Poles may be packed seperately though to make the tent packup smaller if needed. Tent pegs seem a little wimpy, I will probably replace with something better.

All reviews seem good on this and mine is no exception! But when describing a tub floor I thought it was more than a seam elevated off the ground, I thought the floor would be a thicker and different material. But his tent is made for strong winds and very good in the rain as well! Plenty of space for two with gear!

We typically backpack, but with smaller children, we have taken to car/boat camping, where weight is less of a concern. We still used our backpacking tents, which are great, but smaller. This tent is truly enormous in comparison. Where a backapacking tent says it sleeps 3, it really means 2. By contrast, where this one says 6, it could easily fit 8. With an awning and height that enables one to literally walk into it, it's really more akin to pavilion than a tent. After setting it up in the yard, it endured three thunderstorms without a drop getting it! Due to its size, it is best set up with two people, however.

Very nice tent, the only bad thing I can say about it is that the cross bar seems to be about 1/2" too long and can be difficult to install. Maybe it will get easier as I use it more.

The tent poles were too long. I used a hack saw to cut down the top cross pole and the two poles that keep the rain guard above the top vents. After cutting down the poles, the tent works great.

I did a great amount of research before I bought this tent! It is big enough for 2 queen airbeds, plenty of room inside, stand up (and walk) comfortably, the construction seems durable. Sierra had a GREAT deal, 50% of regular price (compared w/other stores)! THANKS! It helps to build it in your back yard before you go camping, just to get familiar with the construction (2+1big+2small poles). You'll need a tarp underneath. The poles for the little veranda aren't included, but the tent has plenty of room in the "lobby" or inside. Can't wait to go camping and enjoy this beautiful tent!
