I was starting to have an allergic reaction to merino wool socks. I normally love them. But, I have weird skin. So, I got couple pairs of these and couple pairs of Thorlo's coolmax and my legs are now doing much better now. The Eurosock socks seem to be as good as Thorlos at this point. Also, th... Read More

I bought the size that showed me being at the upper limits (tight) side of the size, but these are loose fitting/ Too loose for any serious hiking.

Purchased these for my son to use on his Boy Scout hikes. He came home from a weekend trip and asked me "can you order like 10 more pairs of these..they are Frikkin awesome?" That translates to a happy satisfied customer!

I bought a pair of these months ago and enjoy wearing them because they are more comfortable than my other hiking socks, which are small women's size or even large child's size. My feet sweat in them less than in the others as well. So I just bought 2 pair more. I'm noticing they were slightly large on first wearing them, but now that I've worn them once and washed them, I expect they will fit as well as the others. The stitching between the heel and the side of the socks was not very good on one pair (there was a slight hole with yarn ends visible, so I exchanged it); watch out for that.

Great socks - wicking is what I like; packed them in my emergency bag (vehicle)! Good purchase & would purchase again.

  • “Is the L or XL a better fit for Men's size 11 or 11.5?
Asked by Kaz from VA on 6/19/2014 4:21:48 AM
    • I think that XL would be more suitable for you
My shoes size is 10 U.S ,and I ordered size L and it fits me perfectly
Answered on 6/19/2014 4:28:35 AM by uri from nj
    • XL for sure. These socks do not fit like traditional socks. They are more glove-like in fit, so I think the perception is that they run on the small side.

    • Since they run small, I bought L for my size 10.5 husband. I'd suggest an XL. But he didn't like the sox so I returned them.

    • Definitely the XL. I wear a 9.5 shoe and the L is perfect for me. I think an 11 or 11.5 would require the XL.

    • I bought the large and have the same shoe size. They are holding up well, have had them for about 6 months now.
If you have large calves, they'll dig in a little but not to the point where it is uncomfortable.

    • I bought the large for my husband who wears a size 11 show. They fit snugly and don't allow for the sock to slip. That's what we find causes most of our blisters.

    • My husband wears an 11.5. I ordered 2 pairs of each L and XL and we kept both as he liked them so much as there didn't seem to be much of a difference at least in the pairs we received. We hiked in soggy Ireland for a week ( I had the socks too) and they were terrific. Washed well too.

    • I would think that you should use a size large. I bought and used a size xl, because I wear a size 13.5 boot. Hope this helps.

    • I take a size 12 so I got the L and they fit well but are maybe a little more snug than I would like but that's just personal preference. If you like a little bit of looseness in your socks than maybe size up. You probably would be ok with the L as your foot is slightly smaller than mine so the socks shouldn't be quite as snug on your feet. I hope this helps?

    • Hummmm - I prefer my socks to fit snuggly. It's a matter of choice so I would go with the Large. You sure don't want them to be to long and squish your toes in your shoes!! That's not fun and could ruin your trexxing!

    • I usually buy these for my husband. He wears a size 10 (mens) and I buy large. I would say that an 8 1/2 woman could wear a medium comfortably. (I am an 8, and that's what I'd do.)

    • Go with the medium, it is sized for Womens size 8 - 10.

If you didn't know, if you put your mouse cursor over a size box and don't move it (the mouse), a popup will appear with the sizing details for that size.

    • Betsy, I have a better answer for you today. My daughter (8.5 foot) tried on the socks and said they felt great. I think she was a bit jealous I didn't give her a pair. My son hiked 8 miles with them in preparation for a 100 mile hike in Utah. He said they were great and asked for 3 pairs for his trip. He mentioned that he took them off during a lunch break, turned them inside out and was pleased to see that they dried by the end of lunch.
