    Husaband owns this pant in cigar color (I think) in an XL "short". He was pleased that the stride was short as he has difficultly finding a short-strided pant. He is an outdoor professional and needs ease of movement. Suprisingy, this exact same pant in the khaki color in an XL "short" does NOT have a short stride. ---full 2" longer. What a disappointment. Am returning the pair he has not worn.

    Took these to Cancun prior to a trip to South America. In really hot weather they are such a pleasure-light and cool. I brought other shorts but these were the most comfortable, then, when it gets cooler at night, you have a nice pair of casual slacks.

    Actually, I don't use the insect shield as much as I appreciate the lightness of weight and fit, just right for hot weather when I want to shield my legs from excessive sunlight, for example, on my sailboat.

    Wore these pants for first time yesterday, and they were great. Hiked through rock gardens, overgrown trails, bugs, and poison ivy and the pants were what I had hoped they would be. I reckon one of the best features was how light and "breathable" they were. In Alabama weather when the only thing higher than the 90+ degree weather is the humidity, these pants were wonderful. I just ordered a second pair.
