I have walked my dog wearing it. The insect repelling feature does seem to work, which is great!

Have used this on one backpack trip in Cascades [...] A great shirt for trip but did not repel mosquitoes, watched them land on me and bite through shirt!

Wore this shirt on a ten day trip through some bug-infested North Cascades basins. Don't know if it really kept the bugs away (mosquitoes would land on it and stay now and then). But it's such a fine shirt in other respects I'm glad I made the purchase. Warm in the evenings, cool for all but the hottest days, and very comfortable to wear. Thick enough to prevent bug bites even when it doesn't actually repel them from landing.

The intended use for this shirt was when the hike is over When the sun goes down the bugs come out. Not a prob. wearing this shirt. I did not get one bite. I also slept great, no sweating, no chaffing, and no bugs.

I hike in the woods every day and have been coming home with ticks and bites. I looked through all the insect shield shirts for women, and reading reviews, thought they might be "too short and too tight" and a lot had hoodies and stuff I didn't need. I think the designer believe women want to be pretty first and foremost in the woods, rather than practical. So I looked in men's clothing, saw a plain white shirt with long sleeves out of cool material--this one--bought it at a decent price. It's great. I don't look terrible, and I feel very safe from ticks, insects, etc.

I took this shirt up to our lake property in WI this weekend. Normally, I'm attacked en masse by mosquitos, and bitten all the time. Wearing this shirt, I didn't sustain a single bite. In fact, due to its performance, I wore it all weekend. I was stinky (not due to the shirt...it's odorless), but happily bug-bite free!
