Closeouts. Excalibur Electronics RX Master is a combination pillbox and electronic prescription database that describes the uses, side effects and interactions of common medications, as well as explains what to do if you miss a dose or take too much. Plus, it stores information (including doctor contact info and your medication schedule) for up to two users, and gives the generic brand for more expensive medications.
I really wanted this product to work. Unfortunately, after all the work to program it, it didn't "compare" the meds programmed. It merely tells you what meds should not be taken, etc. Example: do not take this if you are taking an MAO inhibitor...well I didn't program an MAO inhibitor...so long story short, the pharmacist is better and the advice is free.

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This product was pretty cool in theory. It holds a LOT of information that could really be useful. But there are no instuctions, and it really isn't user friendly. I LOVE that they're coming out with new stuff that can help, but I know how to program lots of electronics, and this was cumbersome at best. You certainly can get information out of it, but it's fairly large and it would be just as easy to keep a little notebook with the information to flip through that takes up less than 10% the size. I thought maybe I could program it for my elderly father who takes meds, because he could not program it himself due to memory problems. But even if I programmed it, it's not easy to navigate. I worked with it for 2 hours to put in basic information for myself and still didn't get every thing figured out. Maybe if I would have had written instructions my leaning curve would have improved. And if you make an error or need to delete something you've programmed, you'd better hope that you've either got a rocket scientist in the family or a LOT of time .... because it's not a simple process to change things (maybe that's good so you don't accidentally delete things you want). Over all, it's really a cool, cool idea that needs more research and development for practical use. I'm disappointed that it didn't work out, because I had planned to buy one for all of my elderly relatives.
