To be honest, this is the first thing that I've received from STP that was not really nice. The gloves are a great dark raspberry color and will be warm, but they are very poorly sewn, with all kinds of stitching showing that shouldn't be. I kept them only because I wear gloves all the time and am hard on them so they will wear out pretty fast anyway.

With hard to fit hands and very long fingers it is difficult to find feminine gloves that fit. Usually have to buy men's gloves. These are beautiful leather with cashmere lining. I ordered XL and they fit perfectly.

These gloves run small; in fact, I couldn't get my hand into the large size at all. It was like a children's size.

  • Question “Hi, I planned to order two pairs of these gloves. Now that I have the money in my account to do so, the closed out price of the leather gloves went up about $9.00 in price. I've eyed these gloves for about a month, but had to wait until now to make the purchase. I can only order one pair at this time. But, do you normally hike up the price after it's lowered as a close out? This is hurting my feelings.|Janice”
Asked on 12/7/2011 12:00:00 AM by Jan from US: Bronx NY
    • Answer We do not usually hike up our prices once the have lowered, I am not sure what could have happen. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Question “My hand measures exactly at 7". Should I get the medium size?”
Asked on 11/22/2011 12:00:00 AM by Angie from Seneca, SC
    • Answer If you hover over the " Sizes Available" a tap will appear and provide you with the correct numeric sizing. In you case you would order a S (Girth 7 IN-7½ IN)

    • Answer They seem to run a bit small and with a too snug fit may give out at the stress points. They're great gloves so I recommend buying one at reg size and one at one size up and one pair back.

  • Question “Two questions:|1) Is the purple a lighter lavender color or a true purple? Is it more blue-hued, or red/pink-hued? ||2) How well do the gloves repel water? Do they have a water-resistant finish? If not, has anyone treated the leather with a water resistant spray or leather cream?||Thank you!”
Asked on 11/18/2011 12:00:00 AM by clars from Portland, OR
    • Answer In my opinion the purple is a lighter lavender. There is no waterproofing finish on the Excelled Lambskin Leather Gloves to speak of.

  • Question “My "girth" is 6.5 - I have small hands (ring size is 4.25-4.5). According to the "Excelled" pop-up I should order a Small, according to Sierra's "sizing" tab, I should order a Medium. I'd prefer them on the snug side to too big, but not if they're unwearable. I'm still not quite sure what folks mean when they say they run small, you know? :)||What do you suggest?||Thanks!”
Asked on 11/1/2011 12:00:00 AM by Em in PA from Phila, PA
    • Answer I would definitely get the medium. I also have narrow fingers and measured 7--the medium was too big, small was perfect.

    • Answer Measure around the widest part of your hand (girth). Mine measures 7" size S, an XS, 6 1/2" is perfect for me. I bought a S in the Excelled glove; the fingers are about 1/4" too long but kept them because the gloves are so beautiful. Leather gloves will get roomier as you wear them. Hope this helps.
Answered on 11/1/2010 12:00:00 AM by Gumper from Cottonwood Heights, UT
    • Answer Measure around the knuckles (widest part of the hand). For these "Excelled Lambskin Leather gloves, I would order 2 sizes larger than the measurement you get.
Answered on 11/3/2010 12:00:00 AM by Cherry Picker from Oak Ridge, TN
    • Answer You have to measure around your palm right where the knuckles are.|If it is for example 7.5" around - then you are size 7.5 - which is usually medium. 8" would be large , under 7 " is small.|Better stores have gloves in sizes 6, 6.5 , 7, 7.5 , etc.,but here you have to try your luck because fingers maybe too short, or too long .
Answered on 11/4/2010 12:00:00 AM by evak from barrington,il
    • Answer I would suggest you try the medium, or perhaps the large since these gloves run small. I think you'll be very pleased.
Answered on 11/6/2010 12:00:00 AM by The Discerning Shopper from Fort Lee, New Jersey
    • Answer If you wrap a tape measure around your hand at the base of your fingers, leaving the thumb out, you can determine your size for gloves. The number of inches around your flat hand at the widest part is about the size you need. If it measures between 7 and 7 1/2, for expample you will want to order the larger size. Good luck!
Answered on 11/9/2010 12:00:00 AM by The Knitter from Tacoma, WA
    • Answer Generally, you'd probably wear a medium but to determine glove size you measure your hand around the widest part of your knuckles. (Not around the thumb area)
Answered on 11/13/2010 12:00:00 AM by Christmas Shopper from Grand Rapids, Michigan
    • Answer Hi Nancy, I think a medium pair would be perfect. I'm no authority on leather gloves but I own a medium pair and I'm about the same size as you.
Answered on 2/9/2011 12:00:00 AM by Aj from New York, NY
    • Answer Place your hand flat on the measuring tape, then measure the girth just below the knuckles on your hand (not around the fingers).
Answered on 8/22/2011 12:00:00 AM by Nova runs from Northern VIrginia
    • Answer Use the sizing chart STP provides - just measure your hand (excluding thumb) at the widest part - usually at your knuckles. I did a quick measure with a straight ruler (front, back, and sides) and added them together - not 100% accurate, but enough to figure out which size on the chart.
