“Great Pants lousy zippe”

“I love the pants but the zippers are fragile. If material gets caught in the zipper, unjamming it will usually tear the teeth off the zipper. My wife says the zippers are almost impossible to replace the way the pants are constructed. I wear them both for hiking and for general wear in the south in the summer. They're cool but they offer a lot of insect protection even with the open mesh in the inseam. Our yard is full of midges so I can't wear shorts. These are 99% as cool as shorts, and offer 99% protection from midges--just a bite or two a week when working in the yard or garden.”
