ExOfficio Ambush Pants - Insect Shield® (For Women)

I was skeptical about Insect Shield technology but now I am a believer. I was in the Amazon Rainforest for several days and was bite-free. My travel mates without insect shield had large bruise-like welts from the Amazonian bug bites. I have sensitive skin and was worried I might have a reaction to the chemicals, but I did not. A great product that I expect to keep using for years.

These pants feels good. I hope they will proof themself perfect in Vietnam, to keep the inscet away. Not very stylish, and I would have liked the cargo pocket to be more decrete,as they can look bit bulkey for a 5'2" person. I also would have loved an inside zip pocket in the top pocked. I have that on another ExOfficio pants, whick I finde very useful.

These were WAY too small. I normally wear I ordered a size 10--and I usually wear either an 8 or 10--and could not even close them. Bear in mind they are also low-rise, which is not stated in the product description. It's too bad because the weight of the material and the styling looked like what I wanted, but I will go back to Columbia convertible pants--I've got a few of those in size 10 and they fit perfectly. I really did want the insect-shield for an upcoming birding trip to Central America. Low-rise is really not suitable for true hiking pants, either. They'd be okay for general travel.

I used this pair of pants for every occasions, going to work, walking & running the dogs, groceries shopping, etc.

Usual gaping in the back, not bad. We only have 2 months of mosquitos a year, but then they are everywhere, and carefree daily hiking and fishing become a different game. I do not like to spray DEET so am glad to try this. 70xlaundering sounds reasonable. It is too early to tell if I'd recommend. I need to use it at least 40 washings and see if it still works.

These are great outdoor pants. Wore them camping in an area where the mosquitos were out in full force and these pants saved my legs and they are very light and comfortable. Also great for working in the yard as it is high mosquito season here. Wish I had NOT bought a size larger as recommended by the Company. The pants are a bit big but I will make due or possible have them altered. Will order my normal size next time. Would like a pair that is not quite so big to use for casual wear. All in all...a great addition to my outdoor attire.

I like Insect Shield products, and generally do not care what length my pants are, but I did not even need to try these on to tell that the weight of the fabric was not going to work in the sticky, 90%+ humidity we get around here. Sent back immediately. Depends where you live or they might be great pants.

Although I ended up returning the pants, they seemed to be really high quality. They had lots of great pockets, and I loved the cinch up to capri feature. I'm a size 12 or 14 in other brands, and the 14 was quite snug on me. (The length was fine--I'm 5'5). The fabric was a little heavier than I had thought it would be and seemed like it might be hot while hiking. Since the fit wasn't great anyway, I sent them back.

It really keeps the bugs away and is comfortable for hiking. I just wish the pants were little longer

I ordered a size 4 and they fit nicely with a little room at the waist. I usually wear a size 2 or 4. I am 5ft. 2in. and the 30 inch length is perfect. I haven't worn and washed them yet nor can I attest to the insect shield fabric. The high quality of the construction of the garment leads me to believe that they will launder properly. Looking forward to wearing them on one of my travel trips.
