    I cut out the built in "underwear" as it was ill fitting and did not make sense - in a backpacking trip I wash my socks and underwear, but not my pants. It needs to have real belt loops, the built in belt is too small and has no give so what good is the elastic waistband? Material is excellent and quality is very good. Pockets are okay, but I like them bigger. I got these pants for a great deal at around $20 so it gets 4 stars.

    Although not convertible pants, they have a seem w/ mess at the knees for air movement, very nice! And are extremely confortable as you would expect from Ex Officio. Also, have the breathable underwear, or whatever you call them, inside very nice and airy.

    Fit and finish are superb. Super light and comfortable. Going to get wet? No worries as they dry super fast. Integrated belt works well and low profile buckle is comfy under pack belt. Only complaint is the sewn-in mesh brief which I thought were uncomfortable. Easily remedied though...I simply cut them out :) These are now my favorite outdoor pants (narrowly beating the Mountain Hardwear Canyon pants). Looks like now I have to get the Amphi shorts.

    I wear these pants exclusively now. I am short and stocky, and these pants do well for this (the short size). I am lamenting a lack of color variation. I love the Amphi shorts as well. The pockets are excellent for travel and any other pursuit (backpacking, etc.).
