5.0 out of 5 stars. Seems to workVerified Buyer Reviewed by court in the canoe from the Ozarks on Thursday, August 27, 2015I use it in my garden. Great sun protection. It's hard to tell how well it repels bugs. It appears to me to be working but I also put spray on my legs so it might be the spray.

4.0 out of 5 stars. HatVerified Buyer Reviewed by court in the canoe from the Ozarks on Saturday, June 27, 2015I wore it today. I'm not sure how well it actually kept the bugs away but it did keep the sun off my neck and head. Not super cute but functional.

5.0 out of 5 stars. ExOfficio BugsAway Cape HatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gardner from Washington State on Thursday, June 11, 2015I originally purchased this hat at a nursery a good ten years ago, and I love it. After years of putting my dirty gloved hand on the brim I decided I needed a new one.
Still love the hat, keeps neck, face and ears covered from the sun. Light weight but does get hot when the weather is hot and your working hard. Don't know about the bug business.....must work as I am not batting them.
Only complaint: That tiny button is hard to get out of a too small button hole. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice hat, great concept, but came too wrinkledVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from So FL on Tuesday, June 9, 2015Very well designed product, and the button at the bottom is a great concept in a windy or mosquito-infested environment.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Light-weight fabric; should be comfortable in hot weatherVerified Buyer Reviewed by Rayhull@aol.com, not want tin from Rensselaer, NY on Tuesday, February 3, 2015It's zero F here with more than a foot of new snow, so I won't be warding off any bugs or sunburn with this today, but it seems as though it will be ideal on the boat, and the latch at the front of the cape will hopefully keep it from sailing away. True to size.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Australia on Tuesday, February 3, 2015Bought two of these, one each, and ended up buying another for a friend. They work well in an Australian summer, keeping sun off and bugs away, but cool enough in hot weather. The neck is as long as it needs to be, and doesn't drag on your shoulders or get in the way if you don't button it up. The button is a little fiddly but not too bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars. My favorite hiking hatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Texas on Monday, January 26, 2015I bought one of these several years ago and lost it in a kayak wipeout, even though it was buttoned under my chin. Ironically, my glasses stayed on. After I got home from my trip, I immediately ordered another.
There are several things I really like about this hat. The cape folds up into the hat, allowing it to be worn just like a baseball cap. There is an elastic adjustment on the back which helps keep it on my head whether or not the cape is folded up. If I'm trying to get relief from hungry blood sucking critters, I can fold the cape down for more protection and the cape also serves to keep the sun off my neck. I can button the cape under my chin to keep the hat on when the wind is blowing, although that doesn't seem to work when submerged in a rapid on the Rio Grande--operator error on my part! Buttoning the cape under my chin also helps keep my ears warm and if it's much cooler, the hat and cape will fit over a balaclava to add even more warmth. This hat is an indispensable part of my four season hiking gear. I even bought a matching one for my grandson, although I should have gotten a different color for him so we could tell them apart better. He did solve that problem by getting something on his that stained it.
