Verified Buyer Reviewed by NIQO from Pacific NW on Wednesday, May 28, 2014I can't say anything about how well it repels insects, but I tried dipping the sleeve in water to see how well it dried. From my brief experiment, it did not seem to dry much faster than a regular cotton shirt. I will be traveling through the Amazonian rainforest and I did not want to risk having an uncomfortable shirt for the entire three months I would be traveling, even if the bug protection would have been nice. I returned this product and purchased a polyester, wicking, quick-drying long sleeve shirt.
Reviewed by Biker Arden from Seattle on Sunday, July 28, 2013I bought this for my husband before a bike trip in Montana. We were in some areas that were known to have a lot of mosquitos. The shirt fit well and looked great. It also kept the mosquitos at bay. We were very pleased with the shirt.
Reviewed by AHV from Chester Springs, PA on Wednesday, July 10, 2013Now own 3 of these. Extensive yard work done and no ticks, mosquito bites, or insect issues while working. Great product. Also own the bandanas and will be purchasing the pants. I'm a believer.
Reviewed by Brede from MN on Tuesday, June 25, 2013Nothing special about the shirt its self, just a standard long sleeve shirt. The only thing that may make it worth it is if the insect blocker works. I have not went hiking in the woods to evaluate its insect blocker properties yet. If it works I will be happy with the shirt, If they don’t it was a waste of money.
Reviewed by velella from California on Wednesday, May 29, 2013and am testing it on a midsummer trip to Minnesota. Will report efficacy on my return
Answer It would not be a good swim shirt. You would be hastening the loss of the Insect Shield®.
