ExOfficio Insect Shield® Wicknit Shirt - Long Sleeve (For Women)

This could be a great shirt but the material and fit just isn't right. I sent mine back.

I needed a long sleeve shirt specifically for bug protection. I got a large, even though I usually take medium, and I'm glad I did. The looser fit will let me use it in more climates. The fabric is more substantial than I expected. Buzz off is great stuff.

I bought this shirt primarily for protection from bugs, to be worn during any outside activity. It's a bonus that it protects from the sun, too! There are thumbholes in the sleeves, but I found them uncomfortable to use while working in the garden because the sleeves are too short. Sleeve length is fine if I'm not using the thumbholes. This is a little disappointing because it would be beneficial to tuck my sleeves into my gloves for full coverage protection. The shirt is more comfortable than I expected.

Our family travels to Maine each summer and the Black Flies up there are famous. We use to soak ourselves with bug spray before going outside. With the Buzz Off shirts, we can avoid some of the chemicals that we are exposed to.

I'm petite and the fit of the Small was great. The bug repellent also worked very well in the sub tropic mountains of Bolivia - my fellow travelers suffered far more bug bites than I did. Love the thumb holes.

The concept is great as we have so many biting bugs in the South. It was not a "relaxed fit" though. I also thought the price was high for the quality of the shirt.
