    The insect repellent quality never faded. No ticks or mosquitoes. The sun protection factor faded after 4 years when the material wore thin. Sunscreen tended to stain the fabric and not wash out without a pretreatment and light scrubbing. Do not machine dry. Mine did not like the drier.

    I'm never quite sure if the bugs stay away from me when wearing this shirt but I don't swat as much when wearing this shirt!!??EX o shirt seem to have short sleeve lenght which is why I went with a xl size instead of a large.
