I wore these on a trip to Guatemala in March. I used them in a variety of activities: walking around Antigua, coaching a clinic in Livingston, and traveling back in the airports. As I continually told my wife, they're very functional. They're not too hot, and when the temp does get high, you can always zip the bottoms off (although in a third world country, I kind of felt a little pretentious zipping the bottoms of my pants off while kids were running around in their full length jeans). She, on the other hand, enjoyed pointing out that they weren't exactly fashionable, and made me look like I weighed 20 lbs more than I do. Essentially, buying these means you care more about function than how other people think you look.

These pants are great for all around wear. I've worn them in the heat of Africa and India and in my travels across the US. They wear like iron (I still have 2 pair that are 10yrs young), are so comfortable and pack easily.

Wish these had cargo pockets. A bit lightweight for cooler weather. Juy is out as to wind protection.

I wear these every day as my casual pants. Perfect for a casual work environment or around the house or walking the dog.
