ExOfficio Insect Shield® Vented Hiker Socks (For Men)

I haven't had these socks long enough to testify to their durability, but they are quite comfortable. They also seem to do a good job of keeping the chiggers and ticks away. I live in the backwoods of AR, and usually get eaten up by chiggers. My feet and ankles have been chigger-free since I started wearing these socks.

I'm a mosquito magnet and wearing these, I got no bug bites around my ankles and calves. They are quite comfortable, too.

use for hiking, but not these as they felt gummy, hot and just not worth the trouble. would rather use bug spray than wear these socks. someone else could be 180 degrees from this position.

The product actualy works to repel biting insects and arachnids.

Really nice all around hiking socks with the addition of keeping the tiny critters at bay. Especially useful in chigger-infested areas! These socks have a moderate amount of cushion and the lighter, more open material on the top of the foot does seem to vent well. Probably best for light-weight adventures. I'd wear a substantial liner or go with a more heavily padded sock if I had a pack at or over 30lbs. Haven't had them long enough to comment on durability, but they do appear to be made of high quality materials that will last. I really like the height of these socks...so if they are pulled up you don't look like great-grandpa...and if they are pushed down you don't feel like you're in an 80's work-out video with leg warmers on!
