I don't remember now if it is supposed to be layed flat to dry but I would recommend that. I am surprised as I read a few reviews that there were no complaints of shrinkage. I gave mine away to my nine yo neighbor.

Most sweaters I put a layer underneath because they are usually not comfortable to wear alone. This sweater is so soft, but still warm enough to wear alone. It is true to size, except for the beige that for some reason was much larger that the other M sizes. It does well in the washer and dryer. Great product.
