Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gone fishin from PA on Sunday, September 13, 2015These are definitely heavy duty jeans, well constructed and still very comfortable not stiff at all. The inseam and waist are true to size and the legs are a full cut, very wide. I'm not sure what the giant hammer loop is for but I still like these jeans. They should hold up well for a long time, typical of Filson products.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Alex208 from Idaho on Monday, May 18, 2015these jeans look sharp, are quite heavy, and appear to be well made. The guessed crotch is a really nice feature. The hammer loop is gigantic, and the inner suspender buttons seem a little flimsy. However, I think these pants will hold up for a long time.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Buzz from N Calif on Monday, May 4, 2015Very heavy material, almost triple regular thickness. Too much for me.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by mdwak from Alaska on Sunday, March 22, 2015Best jeans out there , Old school heavy denim , even the heal area is reinforced ,Classic Filson quality
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Ken the bricklayer from Idaho on Sunday, January 11, 2015Maybe you can find a less expensive pair of work pants, in fact, I'm sure you can with STP's continuing offerings, but I like these enough to stalk for the best % off and pop. Yes, it would be nice if they were USA made, they're not. I'm a Filson fan that can't usually afford Filson. Thank you STP for making these available.
Question & Answer
“Hello. There is one review of these pants that mentions significant shrinkage after washing and drying, and refers to manufacturers instructions for washing--which perhaps would minimize shrinkage (?) but the review doesn't say what the instructions are or whether they make a difference. Is it possible to check on those instructions and what they say about how to wash and what to expect for shrinkage? Thanks!”
Instructions say machine wash warm and tumble dry low. I just wash these pants with the rest of my clothes and yes they have shrunk a bit, but not significant amount. If you plan on wearing long underware underneath then you may want to size up. My husband loves these pants and his coworkers have commented to him on the quality and asked where to get them.
I bought these for my husband and he loves them. The instructions say machine wash warm and dry low. I washed them warm and dry hot and have had no issue with shrinking. They hold up well and still fit good. These are not used for dress but for casual and work,so of course i don't iron them. We would purchase again! This is the second pair with no issue. Great pants and amazing quality! Hope this has helped.
I did not find this to be so.....at least with my 42x32 jeans.
I'm 6'0" and weigh 240 and love these jeans.
These are not for the faint of heart, fashion followers.
These are for the man who sets the standard.
I bought 3 pair, cut the hammer loop off the two I wear (it was just too big).
Button braces Finnish out the outstanding look.
Machine wash warm
Do not bleach
Tumble dry low
Warm iron if needed
Do not dry clean
This is what tag says (standard operating procedure for denim, yes?) I'm wearing a pair of these for two days of work, then wash and dry and cycle them back in later in the week. I've not seen any significant shrinkage and I dry them at my dryer's higher temp. I do, however, anticipate shrinkage at purchase and buy a longer length so I don't get all high watered out. I think a person would extend the life of their jeans if they kept them out of a dryer completely. Hope this helps Dan S from Mass.
“Hello, are the waist sizes for the jeans accurate (i.e., size 36 measures to @36 inches)? I ask because I've found quite a few size 36 jeans out there (non-Filson) that measure as 37 and size 38 that measure at 39 or 40 inches. Thanks”
Measured this am and they seem to run about an inch and a half over the stated waist size after a couple of washings. But a 33 in these and carharts seem to fit great. I've just never measured them before.
“what is the leg opening for 33 x 32 in this product and for Item #6171V
Filson Five-Pocket Denim Jeans ”
The leg openings for both pairs of pants at bottom hem is 19".
