Filson Double Mackinaw Cruiser Coat - Wool (For Men)

I have now used this jacket multiple times below 0 temperatures and it is very warm. Also like the cut of the coat is not bulky even though I have xl. I have used gore-tex, fleece and other high tech gear. The issue with these garments is that they are not breathable enough when you are mobile outdoors. These wool garments are and they have incredibly large temperature range you can use them. For heavy rain, I still use goretex over this jacket.

This is my new go-to for bad-weather Elk hunting and late-season stand/still hunting in the east. Not a great choice if you're going to sit all day 20 feet up in the wind, but about ideal for hunting where the animals go to hole up. Big, roomy cut for layering (I can fit a down jacket and a down vest underneath when things get brutal). Double-layer construction creates huge pockets everywhere you look, and the sleeves are perfect for use with a gauntlet type of glove because you can overlap the cuffs to get great wrist coverage. Windproof? Nope. Waterproof? No, but it'll keep you warm anyway. If you're into Gore-Tex and carbon scent-suits and all that, you won't be happy. But if you're more trad-minded, if you know what's good about wool, and what makes it worth its weight & bulk, you'll love it. As will your kids. And their kids, too, most likely...

Great product. Sleeves a bit large and bulky for bow hunting. A little heavy for me
