Filson Hunting Coat - Waxed Cotton (For Men)

I like this jacket a lot. Taking it out of the bag, I was concerned that the material is so heavy and so stiff that it was going to take weeks for it get comfortable. It took about 30 hours of wear and the stiffness is not an issue. I love the look of this jacket and as the fabric breaks in it is getting a nice patina. My only fault is that it needs an (inside?) breast pocket for glasses. Based on others comments, I order the medium instead on a large (which I normally wear) and the fit is fine with perfect sleeve length and room for heavy sweater or a liner.

Had the bibs, now I have the coat. Was -23 this AM, last day of pheasant season. When it warmed up to -13 I took the pups out. I must be nuts. Flushed some roosters, threw some shot in their direction. Coat was pretty stiff at that temperature. Might have to wear it to church for a while now that season is closed to break it in. Need the zip liner I think.

I was greatly impressed with the quality and utility of this jacket. Enough storage to leave your day bag or small pack at home. The front loading game pouch is actually large enough to carry two small dogs . My difficutly with it and other Filson products is the sizing. My jacket size is somewhere between a 38 and a 40 regular. The filson SMALL is a 38 and other Filson SMALLS that I have tried are just a bit to tight on me to have full range of motion. The Filson MEDIUM ( which I purchased) is stated as size 40-42. It is a generous 42 and will look like a lead dress on someone who wears a 40 regular, way too big for me. I've been wanting a filson coat for sometime and it is very dissapointing that I fall within the rather large sizing gap. I have reluctantly returned the jacket.

Great traditional upland and waterfowl jacket. Due to a style change these are on closeout and are a great bargain.

Only gripe is that it fits a little baggy on me. Even with layering it is a little loose but small is too small for me.

This Tin Cloth coat is tough as nails, with lots of storage, you will need to buy a fleece liner to zip in though, it doesn't come with one.

Super purchase -- GREAT PRICE -- WELL WORTH IT!!! NO PROBLEMS in shoulder high briar patches.

Finally was able to get a Filson Jacket as a gift from my family for my 50th Birthday. Need to buy the liner next. Nice to buy a US made article for a change. [*]

This is a great upland coat and for running around town when the skies are grey overhead and your not sure if you will stay dry all day.
