Filson Packer Hat - Reversible (For Men)

I read the reviews and they are on target. It's a weird looking hat. You will get zero style points. Okay, maybe one - but that's just for the fact that it's a Filson. I contimplated, but didn't return it. The blaze orange is practical and it fits so low on my head that it won't come off while running the boat.

Had one of these for many (25+) years - very durable. This one will probably outlive me. The blaze orange is great for outdoor walking along roads and during hunting seasons - but you can cover it up when you don't want it.

Pretty good hat. Nice oilcloth it goes well with the barbour I bought here 2 years ago. A little on the small side for an XXL. The orange bit is silly but presumably effective- it is hunting season upstate, after all. Picture doesn't show that it looks like a standard bucket hat with the green flap pulled over the orange.

I am quite satisfied with this product. The fit allows for the hat to sit comfortably on you head, but securely so it will not blow off in the face of high winds, something I encounter frequently chasing chukar in the mountains. The material is pretty light and pliable. I think the brim will do a pretty serviceable job keeping the sun off my neck and ears due to the way it overlaps these areas.

An unusual Filson disappointment. This was a good idea gone bad. The reversible flash orange feature was a good idea, but, it created two design problems: #1 There is little to no ventilation, having only one vent hole on each side with doubled up fabric on the top of your head. #2 The hat stands too tall for this size brim, making it look awkward on your head. I was truly torn, as I love all things Filson; but, in the end I did return it.
