“Versatile and effective”

“I have several Filson jackets/coats/vests. Love them all. Pure design excellence, and fun too. This will be one of my favorites because of its versatility. It's a sort of "long jacket", length, which in a sense provides most of the freedom of a jacket with most of the protection of a coat. The waxed shelter cloth offers very good warmth and wind and rain protection by itself, and when more is needed the Filson vest liner that I have really kicks up the protection. Filson products really can't be appreciated by visual observation alone; when one has worn a typical (excellent) Filson product, a better appreciation arises. The uncompromising standards and rational design excellence of Filson is as far as I know I unique. If you like waxed cotton (not everyone does, but I and many do), you will like this product.”
