Five Ten Five Tennie Approach Shoes - Suede (For Men)

Closeouts. A casual sneaker vibe with an approach shoe capability, Five Ten's Five Tennie shoes can scale variable terrain and handle a little off-trail debris, as well.

After looking at the size conversion chart, the size problem is that U.S. shoe size printed on the label doesn't match the EU size, also on the label. U.S. size is 1/2 size too large, which is why every review says buy 1/2 size larger. The EU size seems correct. Other than that, they are comfortable for my purpose, which is walking on mostly flat, crushed limestone paths. I like the light weight, they seem to be made well, and support the feet.

Just as described, but I'm not sure about the durability yet. Comfortable overall, although not as much support as other similar shoes; seems to be more suitable for narrower feet. Very light, runs about half size small, as advertised.

The biggest concern I had before purchasing the shoe were the sizing. I've had two other different pair of 5.10 approach shoes (same size in both). I took a gander and went with the same size for the retro shoes and thankfully they fit. I really like the green color! Also, I like the 80's style look to these too. They're comfortable and my feet do not get hot in them either. I like the lacing system unlike the other 5.10 approach shoes I've had. The eyelets are a good inch or more when cinched unlike the other shoes I've own (laces would almost touch if I had to lace them before an approach to the crag). If 5.10 were to continue to make the Retro Tennie after the life of my current tennie, I'd purchase them again. And of course, can't complain about the rubber on bottom of the shoe.

When it comes to tread there is absolutely nothing bad that can be said about 5.10. Stealth rubber is the best thing ever invented! These shoes are great I have worn them in Zion National Park for hiking and trail running with no complaints. They are even comfortable enough to wear at work for 12 hours days. The only suggestion I have is buy them 1/2 size bigger they do run a little small.

I wear a women's 7.5, and the men's 6.5 fits me perfectly. These are great shoes, super comfy, nice and stiff for biking around town or actually using them as approach shoes.

These are very comfortable and gorgeous shoes. If you like a vintage-looking sneaker but need a stiffer sole these are the ticket. ALso , i am not a guy, they look really unisex. Should add, not purchased for intended approach purpose, i just think they look good. The leather is great quality, obviously.

These are pretty sweet casual kicks. I question their durability as a true approach shoe. The stealth rubber is really sticky, but a boulder field or scree would chew these up in no time. I bought them mainly for bumming around town and short low tech approaches. Definitely order 1/2 size up from your normal size unless you want them to fit like a true climbing shoe. The green is pretty loud, wish STP had them in blue, but at the price with STP coupon, I could not pass them up. Guess I am ready for St. Paddy's day at least!
