Footprints by Birkenstock Perth Boots - Wax Leather (For Men)

I was excited to find this pair of shoes but when I received them, I was quite disappointed. I am a big birkenstock/Footprints fan. Their sandals are great. But for shoes, they seem to have different sizing for different shoes. These shoes have enough room in toe box but for some reasons, seem to be narrower in the middle of the shoes, thus making it harder to put on. The top of the shoes rests just above my ankles and I can tell after a little bit test walking that it will be uncomfortable. The leather is stiff but I am sure that it will get better with more use. They do run smaller and I should have listened to other viewers to order one size larger. Too bad it is going to be a return.

For work and play

These boots are great if you know Birkenstock Footprints sizing. The size is consistant for women, but I'm sure they would be tight on men. These should be listed as a wonan's shoe/boot. They are somewhat stiff, but as with any Birkenstock, they break in well. I personally love the boot, but beware! They do run a size smaller than regular Birkenstocks, and you need to break them in slowly.

I love Birkenstocks for the comfort and quality - I wish the sizing was consistent. These are on their way back.

I've been a huge Birkenstock fan for years, so I was thrilled to find these at such a great price. The workmanship and materials are high quality and I expect them to last for years. They were comfortable for me right out of the box, although they should get even better as they break in and mold to my feet. About the sizing issues other reviewers have mentioned - these shoes are not "for men" as advertised. These are unisex sized, which means the 39 is a US WOMEN'S size 8 equivalent, not a man's size 8. Also, the "regular" width (C/D) is a US woman's wide width, but is a US man's regular width. Plus, Footprints typically run smaller than traditional Birkenstocks sandals - I notice especially if I wear socks with - them so I order up a size for Footprints. Hope this helps.
